Done with Scanning

Pretty good weather outside, and I had both a camera and a film that needed testing, so I think you can see where this is heading. I loaded the Om-1 with some Foma 400, mounted my beloved 35/2 on it and headed right of to the city.

For the first time, i saw all politcal parties at their booths in the city, yep, the green ones finally showed up. But still, my headphones/hat/camera/something keeped scaring them away, noone even started to bother me.

The Om-1 is pretty nice, the matchneedle system is better then with the OM-2, but I have to admit the film advance leaver feels better on the OM-2. Not sure why. Also the Shutter Speed ring seams to be a bit harder to rotate on the OM-1 then on the OM-2, but thats maybe because on the OM-2 its just electric contacts, while on the OM-1 they actually move some gears to adjust the shutter speed. There is somthing about mechnical cameras, not sure what it is, but it makes me trust them a lot more then I would electronic cameras.

back at home, i keeped scanning the 2 remaining films. Worked all pretty good, mid-scanning I noticed the scanner was set to auto size (what turned out ot be just around 1200 dpi), bit low for scanning, but they photos seamed fine for web, and thats all I want. I’m much more confident about the low -res (at least compared to the 7200 my scanner “claims” to have -  he lies better then a politican before a election) Agfa DuoScan I hope to use soon.

Anyway, the results are split into 5 different “themes”, I will post one in here (to test nextgen gallery) and on flicker each day the next five days. I start with a smaller one, from a short city trip I had with Michi earlier this year. I think Om-2 with 35/2, TMAX 400 in XTOL.  Enjoy:
