My camera dealer in Wolfsberg is about to close down too, but before he does he found some nice stuff for me in his storage unit, mostly stuff he hasn’t know about for months. And we were about to visit my grandma in Wolfsberg, it was 2 birds with one stone.
When we left Klagenfurt, it started to snow, but it wasn’t bad, we were ni Wolfsberg in no time. There was a light constant snowfall, but by far no enough to get something on the ground. I went to the store, and I was actually just there for a 6×6 medium format kit for my Durst 370 enlarger and a 100 feet bulk roll of Tmax 400.
But that wasn’t it, we found some Fujichrome 100D and Kodakt 64T too, a Nikon lens cap for a friend and some Nikon stickers which I forgot to take with me
Almost on my way out, I spoted a Canon G5 with the lens stuck out in the garbage box, asked if I can have it and took it.
The drive back to Klagenfurt was mostly ok too, from Wolfsberg to Grafenstein it was wet, but no snow on the tracks, just the light constant snowfall. That changed around the airport, where the 2nd lane was covered with a thin layer of snow, and got worse when we hit the last half mile of the highway where the road was pretty much covered with snow, just the tiretracks were clear. Off the highway, it was even worser, the street full of snow and to much morons on it.
Back home, I started to work on the camera, good the new set of screwdrivers came a few days ago. Taking appart wasn’t a big problem, getting to the base of the lens assembly was. But with some luck, I found the zoom ring that snapped over and managed to almost if it again. Its not perfect, I can zoom a bit over the 140mm it should have, and then the lens has to “restart” to work fully again, but other then that, I have a very nice Canon G5. Gonna test it in the snow tomorrow. Snow outside and nice new photo gear inside. Feels like Christmas.
In the evening, Gervin called, needed some help with the cellar, was fun to drive around in the snow again, just like previous, to many morons. You might can buy ABS, ESP, and 4WD for your car, but its to bad common sense is not available.

Schließe mich dem letzten Satz auch gleich an.
Canon G5 klingt interessant
