Flea Market, the 2nd

2nd half of the big flea market today, not that I have found something special to buy (new celluar, but to expensive), but at least I meet quite a lot of friends today, and also could take some panos I intedded to take yesterday, but it got to late for that. And panos look good. What do you think, calendar or not?

Cleaning the enlarger

Cleaning the enlarger

Also; I worked a bit on my new enlarger. First step was cleaning, and after 3 hours of taking it appart, cleaning it with some pretty strong chemicals and putting it togther it works like new.

My only problem is the lens, its the 105mm one for 6×9 format, so with 35mm negatives they turn out rather tiny, everything fully extended allow me barly to cover 10×7 inch. Need to find at least a 80mm lens for it. If anyone out there has expirience with the Durst U70 model, please contact me.

New Panos - A Start

After an almost eternal strugle against all odds, I finally finished the pano I started my editing session with. Programms crashing, unstitchable images, brong blending, everything what can happen happend. But finally today, with some experimenting, the first panos are finally done. The first took almost 2 days, the 2nd went down in a breeze. Odd couple.

The other panos might take some more time, but they will be up soon. Stay tuned. In the meantime, I went tot he city a bit, playing a bit more with my new toy, and also went to a friend to fix his malware and virus infected computer. Never seen anything sooo slow :P

Lost controll

Taking the pano

Taking the pano

Started with cleaning up today, specially since I couldn’t find my camera remote controll anymore.  Kinda sucks, since I was going to the Ackern festival today, and wanted to take a pano there. But since I would need the pole there, I would have needed the remote. No remote, no pole –> baaaaad.

While cleaning up, I decided to clean up the fridge too, since the film there was just in chaos. After some sorting, I finally got everything back in.  And it looks well sorted too.

In the evening, I finally went to the Ackern festival, meeting a friend there. Since I don’t like giving up, I decided to take a pano anyway, just hands up and taking it. Sadly, It didn’t work out as well as I hoped, but you get an impression of it.

And since I found the remote later today, I sure will go there again to take a real one.

New Experiment Pano

So, weather forecast said it would be all sunny today, but in real life, it took it until mid-afternoon to clear up nicely. It might took some time, but in return the day ended really nice, beautiful sky. Tomorrow should be like this, so I’m going to take more tomorrow.

Taking the Pano

Taking the Pano

For quite some time, I wanted to take this pano, first I thought about asking the city (once I’m better known for this), but today I’m not ready to wait so long, I just take my stuff, go and take the pano. I made it different then I first thought I will, but it worked just as good.

I took 2 more panos, just in case this one won’t stitch or blend together, but as you notice, it worked almost flawless. I still had to repair a few spots in the basin, but looking on how I took it, Its much better then some of my early tripod versions. And I have to say, I REALLY like the view :)

Shoot one more

You should have seen the weather today, deep blue sky, hardly any clouds and you could see for miles. Perfect weather to stay on some big mountain. And now guess where I wasn’t. :P

Since my brother got a new laptop some times ago, I prepaired his ( or my) old one for my grandma, to replace the big and ugly desktop computer she uses right now. So for that, we went to Wolfsberg today, setting up the laptop, take the other computer down, setup internet and some software and settings, usuall stuff, you know.

Taking the Pano

Because some internet issues showed up, it took a bit longer then expected, but after that all  (and lunch), I still had soe time to go to the city to take some photos.

Some time ago I noticed that they made the church tower there public, I tried to went up, but you have to shedule a vist up there first, so no tower for me today. Instead, I just went inside, so another pano is on panotopia now.

Weather shoudl get worser now again, but when its nice long enough, stay tuned for another pano comming soon.

Back home

So, that was the (first) trip to Vienna, we all took the 11am train back to Klagenfurt. We had some troubles finding space for all 5 of us, but Thomas managed to get us a good spot in the train. After we had out breakfast/lunch in the train, we had to find a way to wast 4 hours of a boring train ride. Luckily for us, Thomas had his Scurbs DVDs with him, so guess now what we did on our journey. :)

Back home, we went right into the rain, t looked pretty bad in the train, but luckily it was about to stop raining then. It looked even nice in the evening.  I allready started working on the potos, but not as much as I wanted to take and also not many to show yet, most photos I took were taken with the Bessa.

Btw Bessa, the film shipping arrived today from my uncle, a friend and I ordered some photo stuff for us, since you can’t get anything decent around here. Here’s a photo of everything (with labels).

I already started to work on the Pano, but somehow I must have changed the image size setting while going down the stairs, so the pano turned out way to small. Also some errors at the bottom, with such bad material to start, I just did it quick and dirty. But I will go there again to do it right. Hopefully soon

Right now, consider this as a preview. Not even sure if I should post it.

More medival games

Today was the 2nd day of the medival games at Leonstein, since the weather was nice and it was allready quite cool yesterday, I went there today again. Couldn’t get there as early as I wanted, but still right in time to get the coolest events. Still no more photowalker then yesterday, but at least noone was hooging all the good spots then.

I took plenty of photos, but havn’t edit them yet, they will follow tomorrow. But what I can show is a pano, realy like that one. Enjoy.

Canyon Trip

Summer started today, and I was more then sick of learning all the time, I needed a change of scenery, just for today. Sommer was really here today, weahter was perfect, and so we went to the Trögener Klamm, for some hiking.

We went with company, my aunts family came with us, usually nice since they always have some nice selfmade food, downside was, due some water supply related problems, we couldn’t start as early as planned, nor could we go as far as we wanted. But never the less, great start into the summer, and I sure as hell will spend a lot more time in there :D

Photos can be found on flickr here..

Panoramas!

Happy panoramaic day to you all. Had a quite nice one myself. First was some small VT project in the Lakeside-Park, sort of an carinthian ThinkTank.  We made a short tour around it, and thru some offices, for a press conference in a few days. Quite fun. And I also got good ideas for my gigapixel project.

After that, I went into the city once more, but didn’t expect a lot of people there. We don’t have that many people from spain or russia here. But at least I had no problems walking around. I could even take a pano :D

Click on the sphere to view the flash pano, enjoy.

Rainy Day

The weather did not totaly suck today, I had just enough rain-free time to cycle to university and back. But besides those short rainfree timewindow, it keeped pissing down the whole day long. And during night too.

Classes where ok, noting special. While I was sitting there, I was uploading the big pano in backgorund, and just barly made it in time. Upload at university isn’t very fast. But i got it up, after all here is it.

Also, I still try to figure out why the meter of my OM-2 is off.  Metering off the film seam to be accurate, metering if the shutter curtain or with the meter in the prisma are off by over 2 stops. Anyone has ideas on how to fix that, please tell me.
