November 14th, 2008 — University, panos
After the horrible results from yesterday (and since I had classes all day long about Gender and Media too), I went to university with the Canon again. Class was not as bad as expected, actually it was quite good. Fun stuff and male/female references were about equal. Quite suprising, really. Anyway, during lunch break, i quickly got out to retake yesterys pano (and one on the way back), few stitching errors are still there, I need to train a bit more with the handheld panos. But still I wold say they turned out ok. Or?

Transporting Apples
Today was realy all about apples. It started when we went to my grandpa, to harvest some apple for cider. This season the apple harvest was very good all in Carinthia (some parts too good, they don’t know where to put the apples), we got 27 bags of apples, should be plenty of cider for the winter (and beyond).
Tomorrow we should go to my grandpa, they expect around 4-5 times that much apples, but university keeps me locked up :(.
And when this wouldn’t be enough apples for one day, the first “Apple Store” (he called itself a Premium Retailer) opend up in Klagenfurt. I was just getting past there on my way home, plus some frieds said they will shop up there, so I decided to give it a try. And when you know me, you should know what you can expect now. Yep, PANO. Enjoy.

And on an interessting sidenote. When you have Flash 10 running, you’r panos should be as smooth as never before

The people from the geography department at university are lazy. Not only they start one week later then all others, they also are to lazy to tell that it start one week later. In other words, I went to university today for nothing. Well, I took some photos, but nothing university related
Instead i could write a little more on the paper for writing class. Just proofread it tomorrow and done. Also, I finally throw the old printer (Canon i560) out. It was not bad, and very cheap to run, but it started to make some nozzle troubles and my cousin asked for it. I agreed, and finally put up the new IP4200 i have here for a few months now. Just have to refill the inks soon, both blacks are pretty low. Anyone know good and cheap refill/replacement ink catriges options for the new chiped ones canon uses?
Also, eddited most of the museum night photos, the panos are up at panotopia and the other ones will be uploaded to flickr tomorrow. Stay tuned. And btw, found a nice spider at the balcony. Ideas anyone?

Getting an tasty apple

We later visited my aunt, they finally got a new harddrive and asked me to setup their computer again. Good thng they had all driver cds together, so it didn’t take long.
Also, Istartred playing around with the OM-2 filled with Velvia. Good thing we had some great light today
And also, here’s the first pano from last night.

The 2nd test Foma is almsot full, just a handfull of frames left I need for the sensitivity testing. Guess what sensitivity it will have with 30 min in XTOL 1+1. My guess is around 6400, hopefully. But lets see. Need a good Setup with even light first.

Making a better holder for the battery charger
On my way back from the city I stoped by at a friend, he was having troubles with Excel, the “list is just not working”. He long list with dates in it, and somehow he managed to get the date in it in 6 different ways. And when we wanted to sort the list then, it was just messed up. Playing with Excels functions a bit, I somehow managed to get everything back into an uniform syntax. And suddenly it works.
The remaining pages for the calendar are done too, just need to get the cover done. I allready made a placeholder with the last city panorama, but hopefully I can get a more scenec view this weekend.
Btw panorama, tested Microsoft Image Composite Editor, looks quite nice and does a good job on simple panos, but for big ones it needs ages to even get a preview, also it can’t work with fisheye images or 360° panos. BUt always nice to see something new.

Somehow weahter dosn’t want to improve, still cloudy and pretty cold all day long, specialy with the freezing wind. I had to pick up some stuff fro thec city, went with the Bessa there. The body wasn#t bad to hold, but the lens feeled quite cold after time, think I will start carry the thin gloves. Also the black ones should help disguisse the camera even more.
Also I started working on this years panorama calendar, panoramas are choosen and almost all are ready edited. Now I just have to prepair the individual frames and start to design a front/backside. Think will use the frames from the last city pano for that. Any other ideas?

Falkertsee
The last days were full of photo taking actions, including a lot of panos. Naturally, those panos take a bit time when you want to do them right, and with the weather kinda crappy, it was panorama day today.
Photowalk panos can be found on flickr, of course, other panos have been added to viewat.org . Some of the panos will be on panotopia soon too, but not for now. Also this “downtime” gave me some time to cheack and clean why whole stuff again. Just see if everything is working as it should.
With all panos done, I now just hope next week will be nice so I can add some more

Taking photos
Also found some stuff, just some minor photo gear, like a film bulk loader. I “found” a Nikon FM with 2 lenses, but sadly the body wasn’t working like it should, so again, no Nikon for me. Guess I will rather just keep looking for an OM-1. Noone has one left, or?
Oh, and btw, if anyone has some bulk film he dosn’t need. I would

In front of the waterfall
August is almost over, and so is the time I can use my train summer ticket. Again, I havn’t used it as often as I wanted. But today I decided to go, and went to Bad Gastein. Unlike last time, I didn’t went up the mountains, but decided to go thru the city to take some panos (and other photos).
Weather was kinda mixed, but at least it just looked a bit like rain, instead of actuall rain. Been lucky this time. Havn’t edited the photos yet, but the panos are ready. Enjoy them.

August 26th, 2008 — Unsortable Stuff
Since last years calendar was such a big hit (5 sold, and all to me
), i decided to try it again this year. It can only get better. Because I have quite a lot of panos to choose from, I tried to put them all together to make it possible that everyone could vote for their favourite panos.
So everyone, please take a look at this link, pass it on to everyone you want, and click ALL the panos you would like to see in a calendar.
In other news, not that much action today, weather seamed ok (but far from the summer the forecast announced) today, but once I went cycling it got dark, and because I had no intentions to get wet and get sick again, I made the trip a little shorter then planned. Also it wasn’t the best panorama weather either.
