Also found some stuff, just some minor photo gear, like a film bulk loader. I “found” a Nikon FM with 2 lenses, but sadly the body wasn’t working like it should, so again, no Nikon for me. Guess I will rather just keep looking for an OM-1. Noone has one left, or?
Oh, and btw, if anyone has some bulk film he dosn’t need. I would

THe next, big flea market in Klagenfurt started today, the one in Viktring. I went there pretty early today, meeting Gervin at the market and together we searched teh area for some good deals.
Sadly, today was a pretty slow start, we both found some stuff, but it was nothing special, and far away from any cool new camera gear. I’m afraid I used up all my camera gear luck with the 2 new Olympus lenses. Btw. I found out today that the 35/2 came with a mint h

At the flea market
ood. Woho
And also btw, two films are 75% full, hopefully can finish them off tomorrow and then start developing on monday, since the forecast isn’t very good.
For tomorrow, I hope it will stay good. Want to take some panos

Taking photos
Since the computer at my aunts house was breaking down last week, they finally got a new harddrive to replace the broken one in their computer. In result, I visited them today to put it in and get everything on it running again. Might took some time and again no extended bike trip today, but In return I should get my 50l apple cider barrel soon
The pano from yesterday is done too, need to get there with much more water and a bit better light, but still think for a test its not too bad. For those who don’t know it, this is the Ebenthaler Waterfall, bit east of Klagenfurt. Would love to go there again with some dry ice to make fog

In the evening I went to the city again, just wanted to fill up the last few frames of the film in the OM and the Bessa. Love the 55/1.2 more and more
The 35/1.7 suddenly feels so slow. Also met a friend on the upcoming “Alpen Adria Bio Fest”, not seen her for quite some time. Might go in there tomorrow afternoon for a quick pano.

On the mountain
Weather in the city area was like fall, fog high above the city and no blue sky in sight. But then, we also know what do to so. As soon as you get up a mountain, you have a nice clear blue sky, with the clouds way bellow you.

View up the mountain
And thats what we did today. We excaped the grey skies of Klagenfurt and went to the Nockberge, more specific, to the Rinsennock near the Turracher Höhe.
PLenty of photos were taken on the trip up and down, some for normal photos, some for panos. The panos you can find, as usuall, on my website. The links to the individual panos are here bellow:

There are of course plenty of “normal” photos, and the will be at flickr tomorrow. Finished editing, and will let them develope tonight, but upload will take a bit. Soon

Out with Michi
All panos are done and uploaded to Panotopia, not the the last one very special or so, but they are online now. Feel free to enjoy them. While the last few panos were rendering, I went to the city, playing with the 20mm and meeting up with Michi, he wanted to borrow the 30mm.
Us all dealers, first shot as free
Later that day, I went to the “ackern” festival, some sort of rural festival. Georg Holzer started SiliconAlps.tv today, and the launch party was there. Didn’t know all of the people there, but enough to have fun, and since I wanted to take somephotos there anyway, it was fun. Photos are on flickrs, panos are done, but not interactive “yet”.

Actually, I wanted to finish at least a few panos from my trip yesterday, but no luck. At first, i tried to do all at once, was a bit to muh and it send Autopano to the deepest pits of the computer hell.
Next thing, I got a bit distrcted from the postman who got me my 20mm, but after some testing, I went back to the panos. I adjusted a few for rendering, clicked render and went off to the city to test the new lens.
In the city, I stumbled across Georg, kwentin, Christian and others, so the city trip was shortend a bit and we went to the Irish pub for some drink and talk. At least I could play a bit more with the lens there.

Bar discussion, taken by Georg
After midnight we went home again, I checked the computer and it turns out the pano didn’t render as smooth as possible, have to give it a little more attention.
The problem then was, from the first crash Autopano seam to have suffered a bit, it was a bit slower then usuall, and just when I was about to finish the panorama again (after some big troubles), it just locked up while repositioning the frames. Very bad, since you can’t save then. So you have to wait a bit to see more of Salzburg. Hopefully tomorrow.

This weekend, the Alps Highland Games are happening in Wölfnitz, but northwest of Klagenfurt. It started yesterday with the business games (not that interessting), and tomorrow are the “best of” (seen them today anyway), but today the “main” games were happening.

Taking the pano
First the whole thing was planned as a small photowalk, but in the end just 2 other people showed up, far less then I expected in the first place. Good think about the games were that we had no problem getting into the area, they asked all other people to leave several times, but anyone with a camera could stand right in the way and noone cared. like it should be
Quite a lot of photos taken (not uploaded yet) and one pano (see bellow), so I guess it was quite a good day. Just have to get a smaller pole for me that I can carry more easily.

So, weather forecast said it would be all sunny today, but in real life, it took it until mid-afternoon to clear up nicely. It might took some time, but in return the day ended really nice, beautiful sky. Tomorrow should be like this, so I’m going to take more tomorrow.

Taking the Pano
For quite some time, I wanted to take this pano, first I thought about asking the city (once I’m better known for this), but today I’m not ready to wait so long, I just take my stuff, go and take the pano. I made it different then I first thought I will, but it worked just as good.
I took 2 more panos, just in case this one won’t stitch or blend together, but as you notice, it worked almost flawless. I still had to repair a few spots in the basin, but looking on how I took it, Its much better then some of my early tripod versions. And I have to say, I REALLY like the view

Enjoy.

Weather forecast for the city was not good, even worser for the part of Austria north of the mountains. But on the other hand, the forecast was nice for the upper part of carinthia, so why stay in the rain when you can go to the sun?
With that in mind, I looked for some places to go where 1. I could go by train (its almost free for me now) and 2. where the forecast was nice. Found some spots, sadly the one I picked wasn’t nearly as interesting as I hoped.

Me in Spittal
My destination for today was Spittal then, small town in upper carinthia. Its right on the train track and nice weather, so I went there to add some panos to my map. The weather was indeed fine, sadly most places I went to for panos were either closed, occupied by some festival or not accessible by some other reason. And also the photo stores had no neat stuff
Anyway, I had nice weather, at least one new pano and the travel was nice too. So I guess it wasn’t that bad after all

And heres the pano
July 12th, 2008 — holiday
Day 3 in Vienna. Today was more about shopping and photography, we first meet up with Werner at his photo store, loo kin for some stuff, but since I already have what I want, not much shopping. Same for the other stores we went to. But some stuff at the LeicaShop was quite teasing
After shopping, we went back home, recover from the heat and also to get the rest of our photo gear. Between 2 and 3, we went back into the city to see (and take photos) of the rainbow parade (guess what that was :P). Johannes joined us a bit later (and had to go earlier too), but Werner, MIchi and I took some nice photos there. Specially Werner has some nice ones for this entry
After the parade, we went home again, another short break. Werner wanted to meet us in a small bar near the MQ today, two other friends of him were allready there. While it was raining outside, we were playing pool almost all night long. So long, they shut the subway and such stuff down, and we had to go home. Bad thing it was raining then. (Turned to a light drizzle while we were walking, luckily). But it gets never boring here.
