First sorry, I couldn’t get on the site, after 10 min to load the WP login page, I gave up.
Weather started to get worser again, bad timing, I’m fine again and also there are the Highland games out tomorrow. With the rain today, not much was to be done, just a bit cleanup, fixing the remote shutter again (stupid cable always get loose), and working on my website, I plan to redo the whole site, with a selfmade CMS instead of wordpress. Not sure how well it will work, but I hope that way I can add some features realy want to have for quite a while.
Btw new, upgraded this blog to WP2.6.1 and uploading finally works again.
The weather here was pretty much like it was yesterday, rain, no rain, rain, no rain and everything in between. And of course changing every few minutes. The only problem I had with it was that unlike yesterday, the weather was everywhere that way, not only here. So I had no change to escape it and went to a place where its nice.
So instead of fancy trips and taking new panos, I could at least prepair my gear, the sensor needed some cleaning and also I noticed a few waterspot from the last shootings near the water, the waterfall and the fountain yesterday. With that taken care off, I keeped cleaning up, looks almost good now. Finally could get back to the desk to measure the room, since I need to recheck some stuff for my new desk. But things look quite good for it.
This time the weather was exactly as the forecast said. Sadly, he forecast said rain and no rain will change several times today, and it really was that way. 10 min rain, 10 min non, and that the whole day long.
Sorting out bad batteries
But at least, this time was expected, and so it was a productive rainy day instead of a wasted rainy day filled with cool plans. Lasted days I managed to clean the desks up a bit, with that gained space, i could finally start with the photo cabinet and the table in front of it (what right now carried 2 times its own volume of random (and I mean REAL random) stuff).
My only problem right now is to find a place to store my “battery center”, need some sort of system to sort around 40 to 50 rechargeable batteries, best sorted into groups of equal capacity and of course, charged and empty. Right now my best idea is a big wooden board with around 60-70 holes in it, for the batteries, but if someone has a better idea, I’m open to suggestions
Should have turned to the aviation weather services long ago, it was kinda spot on for today. From morning to late afternoon it just keeped raining and raining and raining. And also no big surprise, I didn’t went cycling today either. Need some nice blue sky for the panos
While I was there, bored, I got a phone call from a friend, his computer is acting weird. As he promised a pizza for lunch, I couldn’t resist. I just got my system utilities and got on my way. After running the antivirus and installing one, things look much better. Some minor system adjustments and it was all shiny-new again. And the pizza was delicious too
Rest of the day, not much new, just cleaning up and hoping for better weather. Oh, and I still fight with another HP laptop. It refuses to use the touch pad, no matter what drivers I user (under Windows XP Home). When I deactivate or activate the touch pad with the synaptics driver, it works for a few second then shuts of again, like something is internally deactivating it. It works fine under DamnSmallLinux Live. Ideas anyone?
The forecast was wrong today again, it said rainfree yesterday, sunfree would been more accurate. We still got sun, but there was way more rain then sun outside. Bad for me, since that mean I had to skip my bike trip.
Good news on the other hand, that gave me some time to fight the chaos monster and clean things up a bit. Sadly, I think I’m not really winning that fight. Also, I had some time to work on the rest of the photos from the medival games and put them on flickr. Some turned out realy nice, but still my favourite was the pano from yesterday. Fisheyes are the most fun ones. When used right.
Forecast for tomorrow isnt very much better either (looking on the aviation weather service now, they are usually accurate, not like the cheap tv ones), so I guess there won’t be any cycle trips tomorrow either
Today is the last day of Spring, tomorrow Summer starts. And the weather decided to get bad once again before summer starts, big shower in the early afternoon. I first wanted to go on a short cycle trip, to get some fresh air after learning, but then the weather was to bad for that.
It did eventually clear up later the day, but still, it was quite mixed, in the later afternoon, at least here it started to rain slightly again, but luckily not for very long. Hope when the summer officially started, weather will stay fine too.
The weather did not totaly suck today, I had just enough rain-free time to cycle to university and back. But besides those short rainfree timewindow, it keeped pissing down the whole day long. And during night too.
Classes where ok, noting special. While I was sitting there, I was uploading the big pano in backgorund, and just barly made it in time. Upload at university isn’t very fast. But i got it up, after all here is it.
Also, I still try to figure out why the meter of my OM-2 is off. Metering off the film seam to be accurate, metering if the shutter curtain or with the meter in the prisma are off by over 2 stops. Anyone has ideas on how to fix that, please tell me.
Enjoying gigapan.org, I decided to reupload one of the earlier highres panos, just to have it there. And somehow I thought it would by nice to take one more, sadly the weather today wasn’t very electronic-friendly, rain and that stuff. Hopefuly tomorrow will be better so i can take one. Check the allready uploaded ones out here.
As said, weather keeped me pretty much indoors, just could prepair some photo related stuff and work on the blueprints for my new desk. And read some newspapers. Found this clip there. Sorry, german only.
Also, still checking batteries and its horrible how worse they are. brr…..
