Schools out for Summer

Alice Cooper was quite excited about it, and I can clearly see why. After the last exam today at 15:30, the current semester is now over (appart from 2 papers I have to write, but that has time), holidays started.

Since I didn’t get back out before 5pm, I just went to the city a bit, relaxing, not much time to go somewhere special. BUt that will change tomorrow :D

Holidays. HURAYYY.

One done, one to go

So, had the first on my 2 exams today, and it didn’t went very well, don’t expect to much from it. But at least I know now what I have to learn for the 2nd try in fall.

After that, I went to the city, needes some cheer up and whats better then walking around with a camera. Also had to do some shopping, so that fitted nicely.  Took not that many photos, since I wasn’t highly motivated, also there was not much on in the city.

Later I visited a friend, we finally ordered some more film and chemicals, since you can’t get them in Klagenfurt (or most parts of Austria anymore).

And just when I went to bed, we got some nice hail too :P

Also on a sidenow, I got another proofe that the university is run by drunken lemures. Its great when they make the powerpoint slides avileable online. Its ok when they convert them to pdf. Its NOT ok when the keep the annoying blue/gray patterend background they used.

And a bit more learning

So, last day before the exam, so a bit more learning, some sleeping and then I hop i will write something good. Either way, then most of the learnign is done, there is one more exam next Monday, but that should be a piece of cake. Hopefully.

Can’t wait for this to be over

More more learning

As the finals are getting closer, the feeling that I don’t know enogh gets stronger. Still, i’m pretty sure that I won’t have any problems on that, know the stuff quite good now.

Funny thing, someone sended me that link to a nice webcomic today, and I have to see I feel exactly like that right now. Good night.

More learning

More learning today, since the weather wasn’t as good as the last days, it was a bit easier. Just the papers we have to learn are getting worser and worser. Doing a class about “New information and communication media” with books from the last century (1997 :P ) isn’t very clever, especially since guy wrote wrote the book also wrote that “massive changes in the communication sector in the last 2  years made an updated research of the field necessary”. Guess we had just minor changes in the last 11 years. I also find it annoying that the book says Europe really lacks 2MBit backbones. Guess that because I alone need 5 of them for my connection.

After all this nonsense, I had to go to the city, getting my head sane again. Took the Zorki with me, nice tool for such occations. Still plenty of frames to fill, but no less then before I went. Even found the info that a nice small concert is happening this week. Lets see if I can get press tickets.

Happy Birthday

As most people know, its Garfield’s birthday today, he turned 30 years. I, on the other hand, am exactly 5 years younger then him :)

Quite a lot of people wrote their wishes to me, some people I havn’t spoken with for quite some time, so it was a good thing to get back in contact with them. Wish I would talk with most of them more often.

They day started quite “well”, classes started at 8am. It wasn’t very challenging today, just talked about the upcoming exams. Next class I had together with Michi, were I got this nice little present you can see on the side :). Class wasn’t that interesting either, he wanted to show us a movie, but since that wasn’t working (AGAIN), he started to show us some sample questions for the upcoming exam. After some time, he finally got the video working, wasn’t that bad, but I expected more.

Again, the weather today was perfect, so I couldn’t resist but go cycling. Encouraged from the last lake photos, I decided to go to the Halleger Teiche northwest of Klagenfurt. Sadly, I havn’t thought about the effect of the recent rain and storm on the forest lakes. The soil was all mixed up, so the water had a not nice, brown color. Bad. Not realy good for photos.

I should have went southwards, towards the mountains, the lakes are much nicer, but after half the day filled with classes, it was just way to late for that. So instead,  I went home for a nice birthday dinner, may not look like much, but it was very tasty. Hmmmm.

Scanned Images

Aainst all odds, the weather started quite nice, so I could go to university, take my classes and get bach home without getting drownd by the rain. But not long after I got home again, the rain started with thunder and lighting.

Since with that weather, hardly any people would been in the city, so instead of going there, I started to scan the films I developed recently. And there I found out that I realy like the 24mm on the film camera. The sticky aperture it had healed itself, so thats fine now, only problem it still has is that when the sun is in the frame, contrast is down in the cellar. Besides that, its great. The scanned images can be seen on flickr here.

And also, I uploaded the panos from the fan zone.

The All-Day-Class

Waiting for the rain to stopQuite annoying today, I had a class from 9am to 5pm today. Was the one I had the books for, about the political systems. Very boring, since all we had to do today was listen and then make a short report about the our sister project group. Long day wasted for 5 min of talking.

Weather was, as the last day, hot as hell. The sand from the sahara made the sky all white, like high fog. Thats what ruined my latest gigapixel pano trip.  It started to get better today, but it still feel strange.

After class finally over, I went to the city, had something to pick up. And just when I was about to arrive home, it started to piss down. Weather realy hates me :P

Return of the lost Stick

8am is way to early for university, specially when you been out with friends until around 3am. Luckily, being there was enough in the morning, didn’t really had to think a lot. 2nd class wasn’t much more interesting either, and you noticed its becoming summer when the air in the big rooms there get as bad as it is now.

After classes, I went to the city, looking for a new battery charger for my EOS. There should been one in the office, but sadly there wasn’t one. Anyway, some other people asked them for some panos, looks I got a few jobs coming up. Weather was ok today, the sky was as hazy as yesterday, but still very hot.

Also, today was announced that I made the 3th place on a panorama contest in the biggest (and only) german panorama forum. And for that, I won a license of Pano2VR. And since I bought that some time ago (damn) and Issac’s birthday was comming up, I got at least a nice present for someone :). Hope he will post a lot more panos now :)

Back home, where it was nice chilly, I then finally found my long lost USB stick. Don’t ask where it was,  I have no idea how it got there, but its back and thats all that matters. Right in time, need it for some photos tomorrow.

Also, WhattheDuck.net started a new “contest”, “GO DUCK YOURSELF”. I already started, and it’s creepily accurate. Where are yours?

Pano work

After picking up some books for one of the classes at university (the one about conflicts), I went to the Lakeside park, a R&D complex right next to the university to met up with the guys from Panoramatec. I had some new panos for them, mostly fixed old ones and 2 retaken ones. Another reson was that they were having some sort of press conference.

Was quite fun, meet a new “panographer” there too, things are looking quite interessting there. The press stuff was done by Georg again, and should be published in the next web special in the “Kleinen Zeitung”. Sadly forgot to ask for the photo to post here :P

After that, I went to the city, had to check up some stuff. Fences in the city start to get annoying, other then that, no news.

Back home, I started to call some people for panorma related things that I couldn’t reach last week. Nothing special, sadly.
